Eligibility assessment

USI, citizenship evidence, and prior qualification data collected at VETenrol registration do not need to be re-collected here — confirm they are on file and note this below. Record any new evidence sighted at this interview.

Eligibility determination
Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills (LLND)
Check exemptions before administering any assessment. Exemptions are linked to the qualification level selected in Step 1.

English language check
Before assessing: if the student demonstrates any of the following, do not proceed to LLND assessment — refer to the SEE Program or equivalent: inability to read or write simple English; very limited vocabulary; cannot respond to verbal questions in English beyond yes/no; cannot follow a discussion in English; first language literacy is very low.
LLN exemption criteria
Assessment results
Record ACSF exit level achieved (1–5). Minimum for enrolment: Exit Level 2 in reading and numeracy unless exempt. For Certificate IV and above, Exit Level 3 in all areas is recommended.
